The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is located outdoors in West Potomac Park next to the National Mall.
There is no fee to visit the Memorial, and it is open 24 hours a day to the public. It is a 15-20 minute walk from the Smithsonian Metro following Independence Avenue to the west.
A bookstore, restrooms, and drinking fountains can be found across West Basin Drive near the main entrance.
Be sure to check out the nearby bookstore, which offers a selection of souvenirs to remember your visit.
If you have any questions during your visit, look out for park rangers who can assist you with guided tours and provide information about events occurring at the memorial.
Also, if you have time—be sure to check out the District of Columbia War Memorial and Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial nearby.
For things to do or for more information we recommend checking out our Events page or visiting the National Parks Service website.
