When the idea of the memorial was first conceived, the founders dreamt of it being more than a monument, but a magnet for folks from all walks of life. Over the years, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial has hosted events ranging from candlelight vigils to conferences.
The Memorial Foundation, builders of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall, will host its annual Day of Reflection and Reconciliation ceremony on Monday, January 17, 2022. New this year to the observance, the Foundation will host “Replenishing the Spirit,” a musical commemoration with songs of hope and inspiration.
