The Memorial Foundation presents Films at the Stone

An inspiring summer film series located at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. Films at the Stone screens stories of individuals who, against all odds, fought for what was right and whose lives inspire viewers to live the values of democracy , justice, hope, and love.

Film starts at 8:00 pm.
Come early, pack a sack and bring blankets or low profile lawn chairs.

Location: Films will be screened on the lawn adjacent to the bookstore at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington DC. 1964 Independence Avenue SW.

Transportation: Guests are encouraged to use public transportation. There is limited and handicapped parking on Ohio Drive and in front of the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial.

What should I bring?

Please bring a blanket or lawn chair. You may also bring snacks. Please note that alcoholic beverages are not permitted on National Park Service land.

What time will the films begin?

The films will start at 8:00 pm EST.

How do I get to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial?

The best way to get to the memorial is by using public transportation. The closest Metro stations are Foggy Bottom and The Smithsonian. There is also limited parking on Ohio Drive and West Basin Drive. You may also take a taxi. There are handicapped parking spaces along West Basin Drive adjacent to the FDR Memorial.

Yes. Please note that the films address difficult content and therefore parents should use their discretion.
